This project has already undergone several manifestations but it seemed logical after writing a history of work that I should write something about the future of work. First it was a book on the changing face of work, title: Watershed looking at the changes happening in society today and suggesting work patterns for the future.

For a while I was contemplating a book on networks, on the premise that network-structured working may become the dominant form of employment in the future. Today I am reshaping a narrative around work although networks remain an important constituent.
